The GQC-3000 is a drum-type cutting machine built for the specific and commercially important task of separating linked sausage chains into individual portions after the tying or clipping stage. Unlike blade-type cutters that physically cut through the casing — introducing potential contamination points at the cut edge — the drum-type approach uses controlled rotational force to separate at the twist point, which is the casing’s natural weak point. The result is a clean, sealed separation without cut edges that require sealing or reprocessing.
At 1,000 to 3,000 kg/h throughput on 1 kW of power, the GQC-3000 represents one of the most energy-efficient separation options available at commercial scale. The low power consumption is a direct result of the drum-type mechanism: rotational drum motion requires far less motor energy than the repeated reciprocal blade motion of high-speed cutting machines at comparable throughput. For operations that run the sausage separation step continuously across two shifts, the annual energy cost difference is material.
The dual variable-frequency drive system — separate VFD control for both the drum and the auger feed — is what makes the GQC-3000 practically adjustable to different product specifications without mechanical changes. Drum speed determines the separation force and pace; auger speed determines the feed rate and product tension at the separation point. Adjusting both independently allows the operator to dial in the correct combination for each casing type and diameter without a trial-and-error approach.
